Michael is a Chartered Construction Manager, a Chartered Engineer, a Chartered Environmentalist, a Chartered Manager and a trained Quantity Surveyor, with over 25 successful years experience within the building sector.

He has worked and advised upon works completed on 1000’s of listed buildings and scheduled monuments, as well as delivering many thousands of other projects throughout his career. His knowledge has been accumulated through constructing and refurbishing buildings across various sectors including commercial, ecclesiastical, educational, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, leisure, residential and retail.

He has a vast experience of completing detailed commercial dilapidation and conditional surveys, as well as surveying residential properties to identify existing defects and create reports for home buyers, saving clients tens of thousands of pounds on purchases. He is a member of the Residential Property Surveyors Association, a trained Fire Risk Assessor, and member of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers.

Michael is dedicated to ensuring his technical skills and knowledge are always up to date and is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) being the immediate past Chair of the West Yorkshire Hub and a committee member of the North East Yorkshire & Humber Hub. He also sits on the CIOB’s Professional Standards committee and is a committee member of the CIOB’s Member Engagement Committees as well as other working and steering groups. He is also the Chair of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) Yorkshire & Humber Branch and a committee member of the Yorkshire & North Lincolnshire Branch of The Association of Project Managers (APM). He is a CIOB Fellowship Assessor, a CIOB mentor helping others become Chartered, a STEM ambassador and a Construction Ambassador. During his career Michael has been successful in gaining a number of awards for his work in construction and sustainability.
